ONE ROOM CHALLENGE - WEEK 1: Guest Bath
I’m so excited to be participating for my first time in the Spring 2023 One Room Challenge! If you’re new to the ORC, it’s an eight-week challenge to completely transform one room. Having a deadline to motivate you and a community of other designers and DIYers to cheer you on makes this such an inspiring event!
I will be tackling our guest bath which I have sadly neglected. Our condo was a new construction unit, so we were able to select the vanity hardware and mirror. While this space has a great base, I never truly designed it and it lacks personality. I can’t wait to add character, dimension, and incorporate a mix of vintage and modern pieces.
THE PLAN
Vanity hardware - complete!
Add mirror - may potentially change
Replace lighting
Replace faucet
Add wallpaper
Possibly add wainscoting
Change switchplates

What is staying and what’s out…
Hardware - still love the gold hardware for vanity and towel bar & ring I selected so that is staying!
Faucet - replacing the modern chrome faucet with something that has character in polished nickel or antique brass.
Lighting - swapping out since the scale is off and it’s not the look I am going for.
DESIGN CONCEPT
The design incorporates pattern, mixed metals, and warm accents to provide contrast. I plan on mixing modern fixtures with vintage elements. The wallpaper shown is one option I’m drawn to, but I’m waiting on samples to come in to make the final selection. I will share as I receive them!
Here we go! I will be sharing updates as we go on my Instagram stories.
See you next week!
